Following mails from customers who are concerned
about their purchase of property or land in Turkey and to re-assure
others.
We have spoken to our solicitor whom most of you
met when you purchased land or property from us and we have also
now received news direct from Ankara concerning the new resolution.
The details are as follows; For the next 3 months
the sell of land and property located within the Council areas -
those shown as "town council" areas can continue however, property
and land in the areas known as "Koy" - village areas should not
be sold to foreigners during this time. In order to revoke the existing
law and implement the new a stop has to be put on sales.
At the end of the 3 months the law will go to
the supreme court for finalising and until this time the exact details
of the new law are not clear as sales in all areas of Turkey need
to be reviewed. Previously applied for permissions (TAPU)
will go through and anything applied for within the next few months
will be the same.
The resolution passed yesterday does not mean
foreigners cannot buy in Turkey and was passed solely to monitor
the area of land being sold to foreigners. The aim is to go back
to the previous system, where farming land, villages not under a
Belediye (council) cannot be purchased by foreigners. This rule
is not designed to discourage the normal purchasers but more to
stop the Russian and Israeli companies to name just a few from buying
large tracts of land by barrages or along borders in areas of strategic
importance.
As we receive information concerning any new ruling
we will keep you updated and in the meantime there is no need to
panic as this ruling is for regional and security purposes only.
